Spaxels Lightpainting

https://vimeo.com/81813571

You have to go and watch this. The Ars Electronica Futurelab is using 3D model drones to create animations in the sky. It is a fascinating concept and they are able to make shapes in the air.
I enjoy how they were able to implement different colors as well, I really enjoyed it and can't wait to see more from them.

ObamaDub

Well i was certainly not expecting this. I haven't laughed this hard in a while and I recommend people to watch this if they want to have a laugh.

Guerrilla Girls

http://www.guerrillagirls.com/

It is a website for feminist women that want to re-invent the "f" word. The website has many tabs to choose from. There is also a store, videos, and magazines to look at.
They sell posters and answer questions.
Here is an example of a bag they offer:

Fluxus Portal

Fluxus, more than just a type of art. It is also a creative force. It focuses on human creativity, culture, and consciousness. I'm not too sure what the graph explains here but when i visited the website it told me to click on one of the numbers from what path I would like to take and it redirected me to a blank website.

Maria Jose Cristerna

Woman with most extreme body modifications just got even more extreme

Honestly, I don't know what was going through this woman's mind but I think this is hideous. I would be scared if i saw a woman like this walking down a street. I can't begin to imagine what her family thinks of what she is doing. Now i am not trying to bash on her but I believe this is ridiculously atrocious.

Flex Machine 1967

The story of a college student at the University of Utah in 1966. His professor Dave Evans introduced him to another student called Ed Cheadle who had a local aerospace company and worked on a "little machine." It was basically a personal computer that he wanted to program so it could achieve a higher level language, like BASIC. That's where they decided to collaborate and make the Flex Machine.

Pixel Portraits

American artist Craig Alan creates portraits of pop-culture icons using people as pixels.

The Vacuum Tube

It is a glass tube surrounding a vacuum. It is interesting because when electrical contacts are put on the ends, you can get a current to flow through that vacuum. Thomas Edison first saw this in 1883 and he discovered that electrical current doesn't need a wire to function.

Lee De Forest then created the "audio" which made it so the currents would move in a single direction and this would cause currents to be much stronger and they would come out the main electrodes of the tube.

Video Tape

reel to reel video recorder

The first videotape recorder in 1951 captured live images from television cameras by converting the information into electrical impulses and saving that information onto a magnetic tape.
It was developed by Charles Ginsbug at Ampex Corporation and then he decided to sell it for $50,000 in 1956.

History of Photography

The first photograph was taken in 1826 of a view of nature by Frenchman Nicephore Niepce.
Then three years later Niepce and Daguerre signed a partnership to work on perfecting photography.
Later the introduction of computer based electronic digital cameras in the 1990's soon revolutionized photography and now you can take a picture from anywhere in the world with a phone or digital camera. Pictures can be edited and transformed an infinite amount of times. I think it is amazing what some programs can do with images and honestly i don't know what else could be possible in the future. Maybe images being shown in 3D?

Kodak 1888

This are some of the first photos ever taken in the 1800's when Kodak released its first commercial camera and gave the ability for people to take every day pictures.

Film evolution

king-kong-story

Technology has definitely been an improvement in making films today. Movies today have more vivid colors than they did 30+ years ago. One of the differences in film evolution is that in today's era shot lengths are significantly shorter to keep out attention span focused on the film,
There are also different patterns of shots and that is so our minds do not fluctuate in and out of places.
More motion in today's films compared to older movies has also changed and movies today have more lighting than they did back then.

Acapella - Coldplay

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2YSo8Z_-a4&feature=youtu.be

I think this was a very good imitation  of the song Paradise by Coldplay, and I definitely was not expecting it to be this good.

Colosseum

Colosseum

Located east of the Roman Forum, the Colosseum was comissioned around A.D. 70-72 by Emperor Vespasin. It was the largest amphitheater in the Roman world made of stone and concrete. There were more than 50,000 seats to watch events that happened in Rome. There were a lot of gladiators who fought here, generally slaves, criminals or prisoners of war. I think this monument is really fascinating and I wish one day I could go see it.

Performance Art Project

Pony Express

Basically after reading this I began to understand how the post office role began in the United States and how things were first sent through ships back in the mid 1850s. It usually took three to four weeks for letters to travel from the east to the west. Then Russell and his two partners, Majors and Waddell formed a Central Overland Peak Express Company which concluded of having relay stations that would take people and send them to where they were headed. Also, the first mail by Pony Express took about 10 1/2 days, going from St. Joseph to Sacramento traveling through the Overland Stage which took less than the original three to four weeks.

Camera Obscura Time- Lapses

I think this is a very cool combination and very unique. The camera obscura its when you poke a small hole in one part of a box or darkened room, then you get an upside down image of whatever the hole is pointed at projected on the opposite wall of the box/room.

Like this image Romain Alary and Antonie Levi created of Italy.
